Robert John Brillante, born on February 27, 1959, has emerged as both an entrepreneur and a dedicated advocate for combating racism in the United States. His journey began on a U.S. Army base in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, where his father, Major Orlando E. Brillante, and mother, Alda Brillante, welcomed him into the world.

Following his father’s retirement from military service, Brillante’s family resettled in central Florida, where Major Brillante embarked on a pioneering venture, establishing the State’s inaugural cable television company, Florida Cable. Young Brillante absorbed invaluable lessons about the cable television industry while working alongside his father during his formative years.


After completing his education, Brillante’s professional path led him to the forefront of the Florida Cable Telecommunications Association (FCTA), initially assuming the role of Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs. Swiftly rising through the ranks, he ascended to the position of Executive Vice President. His tenure at FCTA witnessed the genesis of several media enterprises under his leadership, including Cable Power, Inc., Media Strategies, Inc. (MSI), Empact Enterprises of America, Brillante Enterprises Publishing, and Education Technologies, Inc.

Outside his professional endeavors, Brillante shares his life with his wife, Dana Brillante, residing in North Florida with homes in the State’s capital city and St. George Island.
